About Us
UCSF is a tertiary/quaternary care center where
many people are treated who have been referred
by specialists and hospitals for diagnosis and
treatment. It also serves as a primary care
provider for patients from the area. There is a
full range of inpatient services and out patient
services that are provided in the Medical Center
which includes a large pediatric service. Patients
represent a broad range of socio-economic,
racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. CPE is
an integral part of the UCSF teaching and
service program and offers opportunities for its
participants to interface with people from other

About the Medical Center
UCSF Medical Center, UCSF Children's
Hospital and Langley Porter Psychiatric
Hospital are located at the University of
California San Francisco, a Health Sciences
University. The adult general acute care
hospital has 350 beds. The children's
hospital has general acute care hospital has
350 beds. The children's hospital has 138
beds. The psychiatric hospital has 35 beds.
There is also an outpatient Ambulatory Care
Center, Women's Health Center and a
Regional Comprehensive Cancer Center.
