Program Dates

Level I CPE is offered in the fall, winter, spring, and summer of every year.

The yearlong CPE typically begins in the fall and concludes at the end of the summer (Sept. 18th 2009).


Schedule for CPE for the 2008/2009 Year long Residency

Levels of CPE

LEVEL I CPE

This level of CPE is for all people who are taking their first unit of CPE. It is the opportunity to learn about
CPE, make some self discoveries, take some risks in initiating relationships and giving critique, and identify
personal strengths and weaknesses inherent in pastoral functioning. Level I CPE units are offered in the fall,
winter, spring and summer units.

LEVEL II CPE

Level II CPE includes developing pastoral reflection, pastoral formation, pastoral competence, and for some
people pastoral specialization. The outcomes of Level I CPE are necessary to complete before beginning Level
II CPE.

SUPERVISORY

Supervisory training is available for people who have completed the objectives of Level II CPE and who are
interested in certification as a CPE Supervisor.

All three levels are available at UCSF Medical Center.


Program Fees

The fee for the first unit of CPE is $600.00. The second unit is $500.00. Each additional unit is $400.00 There
is a non-refundable deposit of $250.00 which is payable upon acceptance into the program. The fees which are
paid are used solely for the ongoing costs of the CPE program, which includes quarterly and annual
accreditation fees.

Stipend

There is a stipend available for people who are in the yearlong program. The stipend is $2,333.00 per month.
Basic Medical Insurance is provided. There is also provision for 15 vacation days and 12 hospital holidays.
